While at a charity event with Walker's father and
brother on Saturday, September 17, Diesel, 49,
told fans, "Paul was very instrumental in my
segue into fatherhood. He was the one that told
me to go to the hospital. He's the one that told
me to cut the umbilical cord. He told me to cut
the umbilical cord! [He was] the only person, in
California, that knew I was about to have a
child."
The actor, who was raising money for Walker's
ROWW charity , continued, "He must've been God-
sent because he put me on the right path. He set
me up. And when we did the first Fast & Furious ,
I was already 30 years old or something, but he
was a father. When we were in the cars in
between takes, he would tell me, 'Hey, Vin, it's
not a scary thing to become a father' [and] give
me all the good advice. Next thing I know, I am
a dad ... [He] is why I named my daughter
Pauline because of the credit that Paul Walker
deserves in my personal life."
Diesel is now dad to three children, daughters
Hania and Pauline and son Vincent, with his
longtime partner Paloma Jimenez .

Earlier this year, when the Chronicles of Riddick
actor started filming Fast 8, the latest
installment in the hit action film franchise, he
took a moment to pay tribute to his close pal,
who died in a car accident in November 2013 at
the age of 40, leaving behind a teenage daughter,
Meadow.
"Many of the crew members who have worked
on several of the past Fast films are here again
to help us make something special," the actor
captioned an Instagram post in May. "One of
them at the end of the week came up to me and
said wow what we are capturing on film is
excellent... And then looked at me and said Paul
would be proud."
Later this summer, there was some friction on
the set of Fast 8 after Dwayne "The Rock"
Johnson posted a cryptic Instagram rant , in
which he called an unnamed and unprofessional
male costar a "chickens--t" and "candy ass."
Diesel, who was reportedly the target of the rant,
later responded to the drama by promising fans
to reveal all once Fast 8 is complete.
