– The trial of Dudafa, an aide of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan is still ongoing.

– A witness, Abubakar, told the federal court in Lagos that he received $4 million in cash inside the presidential villa.

– The witness disclosed that he received a total of N1.6 billion from Dudafa between 2013 and 2015.

  A witness at the ongoing trial of Waripamo- Owei Dudafa, an aide of former President Goodluck Jonathan has revealed how he got $4 million in cash from the defendant.

  Murtala Abubakar, a bureau de change operator, disclosed this on Monday, September 26, at a federal court in Lagos, Premium Times reports.

  Dudafa, Jonathan’s aide, has been fingered in alleged $15.6 million fraud.
  The witness said between 2013 and 2015, he received a total of N1.6 billion from Dudafa through five companies, Pluto Properties and Investment Limited, Avalon Global Property, Rotato Interlink Services, Seagate Property and Ebiwise Services Limited.
  He explained that he had known Dudafa since his days as a commissioner for local government in Bayelsa state under Timi PRE Sylvain administration.
  According to him, the only relationship between him and Dudafa was for example transaction that continued up to the time he became a personal assistant to Jonathan.
Abubakar said: “He (Dudafa) usually send two of his staff, Festus and Jahman, with dollars in order to change same and deposit the naira equivalent into specific accounts he provides via text messages .” He said all the instructions on how to
disburse the money were received via text messages.
  The witness however, noted that in the last transaction, Dudafa invited him to the presidential villa and handed to him $4 million cash.

The case was case adjourned till September 27 for cross-examination.
  Dudafa first became a subject of EFCC investigation when a former Aide-de-Camp to Jonathan, Col. Ojogbane Adegbe (retd.), told detectives that he handed over N10bn (converted to foreign currency) to him on the eve of the 2014 Peoples Democratic Party presidential primary in which Jonathan was the sole aspirant.
  He was arraigned alongside one Joseph Iwejuo on a 23-count charge of concealment, retention of proceeds of crime, and failure to furnish information, before Justice Mohammed Idris of the Lagos division of the Federal High Court.
The anti-graft agency recently traced properties worth N1.5bn to Dudafa, a former special adviser to Jonathan on Domestic Affairs.
