Famous actor Sir Roger Moore 'James Bond' dies at 89
Award winning Hollywood actor Sir Roger Moore popularly known as James Bond was reported dead on Tuesday, May 23.
Roger Moore back in the days played the famous spy in the seven Bond films and has ever since remained on the spotlight.
His family members took to his Twitter handle to confirm the death of the movie legend. The tweet was posted via late Roger Moore’s handle with the caption:
“ With the heaviest of hearts, we must share the awful news that our father, Sir Roger Moore, passed away today. We are all devastated .”
The late movie star in 1972 took over the role of Bond from Sean Connery. The longest serving Bond to date, Moore portrayed the spy in more films such as The Man with the Golden Gun in 1974, The Spy Who Loved Me 1977, Moonraker in 1979, For Your Eyes Only in 1981 and A View to a Kill in 1985.
However, in 1991 Moore was appointed a United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Goodwill Ambassador and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2003 for his services to charity.
